What is an Associate Photographer?

Back in 2016 I began offering an associate photography option. I personally try to limit my wedding bookings to 40 per year and often this means I have inquiries on dates that I am already booked. I have also found that some of my brides were just looking for a more affordable option but still want the JHP look. As associate photographer is a great option for those clients! Here is a little more about our Associate Photography !!

What is an associate photographer?
The associate is an employee of JHP and photographs wedding as the lead photographer, rather than myself (Jamie). This is an affordable option for brides that still want the JHP experience,
natural posing, and light, airy, colorful editing!

How does your associate photographer program work?
I handle all of the inquiries, scheduling, communication and meetings. My associate photographer is the artist on the day of your wedding! I then edit weddings. I will also capture any additional sessions that you may have scheduled (I mean I can’t miss out on all of the fun!).

How do you choose your associate photographers?
I am VERY picky! I choose the photographer in who I see passion and love for people, weddings, and photography. I genuinely care about my brides and their happiness is SO important to me! I choose photographers in who I see the same love for people and a desire to serve them well. Several of my Associate Photographers have worked with me for over 5 years.

Who will photograph our wedding?
Right now, I’m excited to be working with Chelcie a majority of the time. Chelcie is pure sunshine and a total firecracker. She is incredibly talented and after working with one another for over 10 years our style is eerily similar! Chelcie is our most experienced and lead associate.

What training does the associate receive?
My associate trains with me for a full wedding season before taking on their own weddings as the lead photographer. They will shadow me during weddings, Additionally, I come with them to their first few weddings as lead to help out and ensure they’ve got it.
